The Danube Tower is a tower in Vienna, the tallest structure in Austria at 252 metres (827 ft), and one of the tallest towers in the world. It was built in 1964 for the Viennese International Horticultural Show and has become a popular tourist attraction ever since.

The tower has two high-speed elevators that can take you to the observation platform at 150 metres (490 ft) in just 35 seconds. From there, you can enjoy a stunning 360-degree view of the city and the Danube River. You can also dine at one of the two revolving restaurants at 161.2 and 169.4 metres (529 and 556 ft), which offer a variety of dishes and drinks.

The tower is open every day from 10:00 am to midnight. The ticket prices are 14.50 euros for adults, 11.50 euros for students and seniors, and 9.50 euros for children. You can buy tickets online or at the tower entrance.

To get to the tower, you can take the U1 subway line to Alte Donau station and then walk for about 10 minutes through the Donaupark, a beautiful park with many attractions and activities. You can also take the bus line 20A to Donauturm station, which is right next to the tower.

Some tips for visiting the tower are:

  • Check the weather forecast before you go, as the visibility may vary depending on the weather conditions.
  • Book your table at the restaurant in advance, as they may be busy during peak hours or special occasions.
  • Wear comfortable shoes and clothes, as you may want to explore the park or climb the stairs to the platform.
  • Respect the prohibitions of smoking, pets, and large bags inside the tower.

The Danube Tower is a great place to see Vienna from a different perspective and learn more about its history and culture. You can also see some other landmarks from the tower, such as the St. Stephen’s Cathedral, the Sch├Ânbrunn Palace, and the Vienna Woods.
