Odysseus Cave is a natural attraction on the island of Mljet, Croatia. To get to the Odysseus Cave by sea, you can rent a kayak or a boat from the nearby town of Babino Polje and paddle along the coast until you reach the cave’s opening. The opening is only 1 or 1.5 meters above sea level, so you have to be careful not to hit your head on the rocks. The sea depth in the tunnel leading to the cave is 8-10 meters, so you can also dive or snorkel if you have the equipment.
To get to the Odysseus Cave by land, you can drive or take a bus to Babino Polje and then follow the signs to Odysseus Cave. There is a parking lot near the road where you can leave your vehicle. From there, you have to walk down a very steep and narrow path that leads to the cave’s entrance. The path is about 1 km long and takes about 20 minutes to complete. You have to be careful not to slip or fall on the rocks, as there are no railings or safety measures.
